Florida reaches agreement with Countrywide for foreclosure relief
|
Florida and several other states have reached a multimillion-dollar agreement in principle with Countrywide, a newly-acquired subsidiary of Bank of America, that will provide foreclosure relief and offer loan modifications to thousands of homeowners, including more than 57,000 Floridians.

Collier foreclosures all-time high in September
|
Foreclosures haven’t turned the corner yet. In Collier County, new filings jumped to a record 751 in September. That was up from 674 in August — and beat the all-time high of 716 set in June, according to the Collier County Clerk’s Office.

S&P index: Home prices continue freefall; rate of decline slows
|
A closely watched index released Tuesday showed home prices tumbling by the sharpest annual rate ever in July, but the rate of monthly declines is slowing. The Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller 20-city housing index fell a record 16.3 percent in July from the year-ago month, the largest drop since its inception in 2000. The 10-city index plunged 17.5 percent, its biggest decline in its 21-year history.
